The Energy Stars Project brought “421 stars” to the electricity distribution sector

The Energy Stars Project, launched by Türkiye's three largest electricity distribution companies—Boğaziçi Electricity Distribution Inc. (BEDAŞ), Akdeniz Electricity Distribution Inc. (AEDAŞ), and Çamlıbel Electricity Distribution Inc. (ÇEDAŞ)—to bring qualified human resources to the sector, produced 56 new graduates this year. The project, first launched in 2018, brought 421 stars to the sector through graduates of the Electrical Installations and Distribution Branch.
267 STUDENTS CONTINUE THEIR INTERNSHIPS IN 3 COMPANIES
BEDAŞ, AEDAŞ, and ÇEDAŞ are supporting the establishment of High Voltage Departments at three vocational high schools on Istanbul's European side, Antalya, and Sivas, where they provide electricity distribution services. These schools are establishing High Voltage Laboratories at these schools, providing students with hands-on training opportunities, as well as internships and scholarships. To date, 79 students who graduated between 2018 and 2024 have started working at three companies, while 267 students are currently continuing their internships in various departments within these companies.
“A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY”
Barış Müstecaplıoğlu, Human Resources and Industrial Relations Group Director at CK Energy, stated that the Energy Stars Project provides a strong career ladder for young people. He stated, “This valuable training program, which introduces young people to the industry at an early age, cultivates individuals equipped with not only theoretical but also practical knowledge, ready for the workforce. This project is not just an educational program; it's also a multifaceted development journey that instills confidence in our young people and prepares them for the future. In a dynamic field like the energy sector, where a sense of responsibility is as crucial as technical knowledge, it's crucial for our young people to enter the field at an early age and gain experience. Because a sustainable energy future will be possible with the young minds we're investing in today.”
SCHOOLS WERE DETERMINED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MEB
The Energy Stars Project was launched with the establishment of a High Voltage Systems Branch and High Voltage Laboratory at three vocational high schools in Sivas, Istanbul, and Antalya following the signing of a Vocational Education Protocol with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education in 2018. While education was ongoing at Bayrampaşa İnönü Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School on the European side of Istanbul, Kepez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Antalya, and Atatürk Vocational and Technical High School in Sivas, the name of the High Voltage Branch was changed to "Electrical Installations and Distribution Branch" as of June 2022, and students began being accepted into this field under this name.
